"Hi, my name is Anri and I love teaching people how to create art just as much as I love creating art. I have been an artist and art educator for over 10 years. In 2023 I got the idea to start a platform where I can educate and share all the useful art tips, tricks and resources I have learnt over the years. This “light bulb” moment came to me while I was helping a student with her choices of colour in a painting class. I have found a lot of the ladies who attended my one day workshops lacked basic foundational art knowledge. They could paint but they struggled to mix colour or did not know how to pick harmonious colours that would complement their art. Another issue I found was ladies lacked the confidence to draw because they think a good artist requires naturally borne talent - insert famous “I can't draw a stick figure” quote here - which is obviously not true. So I decided to revamp Painted Lemons and turn it into a platform that creates a bridge for anyone who loves getting creative but requires a little help. And by “LITTLE” I hope to build this platform into a space where you can find everything you need to help you become a better artist."

What Will You Learn?

The 6 Art Club Chapters

1. COLOUR

We start this course with my favourite topic. This chapter will cover the colour theory, mixing colours, colour harmony and many more. Every lesson has project that compliments the topic of the week.

2. LINEs

Line quality is the secret sauce that transforms drawings into art. The following weeks will be filled with activities and projects that will help you understand the impact of using lines correctly in your artwork. 

3. DRAWING

This chapter covers the basics of drawing. The videos and projects are designed to help you build a firm foundation that will enable you to continue this amazing skill. Learning the skill of drawing will change your art!

4. WATERCOLOUR

Watercolour is one of the most magical and intuitive medium in the world. During the course of this chapter we will cover 

everything from paper, mediums, brushes and techniques. This medium will become your best friend!

5. ACRYLICS & MEDIUMS

Acrylic paint is a staple for most creatives. In Chapter 5 we cover acrylic mediums, paints and brushes. By mastering this medium you will be able create visually interesting artworks filled with colourful layers and texture.

6. MIXING MEDIUMS

The final Chapter will focus on helping you build confidence in your art practice. You will implements the foundational art skills learnt over the past year to complete a series of artworks form beginning to end.

Frequently asked questions

When will this course start and finish?

ART CLUB 2024 will open for enrolment February 2024. Lessons will be made available weekly over the course of 12 months, and ART CLUB members will have lifetime access to the material. This course is designed to be self-paced and you can revisit any of the lessons at any time.

Can I cancel this membership?

Yes, you totally can. Memberships can be canceled upon sending an email.

What will I actually learn from ART CLUB 2024?

ARTCLUB is a mini art course on steroids. Every week we will do two lessons. The first lesson is focused on techniques, art styles and materials while the second lesson is more practical, – call it an application of the first lesson. All projects are done in a journal but can easily be transferred to canvas, etc.

How does the payments work?

ARTCLUB is billed over a 12 month period or a onetime purchase. There is no additional cost apart from your monthly payments.

Is the content designed for ART CLUB available anywhere else?

All content including lessons, projects, printables and content are designed specifically for you to access exclusively within ART CLUB. The weekly content is easily accessible on multiple devices once you enrol on in the course. The content cannot be accessed without a purchase.

Is there any additional support if I struggle?

Once you join ART CLUB you will be granted access to the member Facebook page where FAQ’s are answered and members post their weekly projects. Every second week there is a Facebook Live session where questions are addressed. How do I submit a question? What if I am unavailable during the Live - can I submit a question beforehand and watch the recording? Will the Facebook Live be limited to the current content at the time of streaming? Are there any limitations on questions? (for instance, can I submit an artwork for feedback? Can I ask about techniques / projects that fall outside of the scope of the class? - ek dink maar net mense sal nou vra oor ander goed, dalk moet jy maar net die limiete noem)

How long do I have access to the course?

Once you enrol in ARTCLUB 2024 you will have lifetime access to all the lessons and bonus content.

What supplies do I need for ARTCLUB?

This course is designed to be completed with minimum art supplies and I encourage you to do the projects using with what you have. If you want to use what I use, you can also find my basic supply recommendation list here


Can I use my smartfone to access the lessons?

Yes! Our website and classrooms work very well on tablets and smartphones.

CAn anyone join Art Club?

This course is great for all skill levels. You do not need any art skills to do the projects as the lessons are consist of the basic requirements to create every project. Suggestion: You do not need any art skills to complete the projects as the lessons cover each project from start to beautiful finish, enabling you to apply the skills you have learnt in ARTCLUB in your own projects.
